Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Safe Ride Rider app, Safe Ride Captain app, website, and related services (collectively, the “Services”) operated by Safe Ride (“Safe Ride,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Services as a rider or account holder. Captains must meet additional eligibility, licensing, and verification requirements defined by Safe Ride and applicable Egyptian law.

2. The Safe Ride platform

Safe Ride provides a technology platform that connects riders with independent captain drivers. Safe Ride does not provide transportation services and is not a carrier. Captains are independent contractors or third-party service providers, not employees of Safe Ride, unless otherwise required by law.

3. Accounts

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You must not share your account or use another person’s account without permission.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, our policies, or applicable law.

You may delete your account at any time through app settings or via our Account & Data Deletion page.

4. Rider terms

As a rider, you agree to:

• provide accurate pickup, drop-off, and passenger information;
• be ready at the pickup location at the scheduled time;
• treat captains and vehicles with respect;
• follow applicable safety instructions and seatbelt laws;
• pay all fares, fees, tolls, waiting charges, cancellation fees, and applicable taxes;
• not request illegal, unsafe, or prohibited trips.

When booking for another person (including a child), you confirm you are authorized to do so and accept responsibility for that passenger’s conduct and compliance with these Terms.

5. Captain terms

As a captain, you agree to:

• maintain valid licenses, registrations, insurance, and required documents;
• keep your vehicle safe, clean, and roadworthy;
• complete identity and background verification as requested;
• accept or decline ride requests in accordance with app rules;
• follow traffic laws and Safe Ride community standards;
• not discriminate against riders except as permitted by law and platform safety policies (for example, ladies-only services);
• not engage in fraud, fare manipulation, or off-platform payments intended to avoid platform fees.

6. Bookings, fares, and payments

• Fares are calculated based on distance, time, service type, surge pricing, zone rules, tolls, and other factors displayed before or during booking where applicable.
• Payments may be processed through cash, in-app wallet, or third-party payment providers.
• Promotional credits, coupons, and wallet balances are subject to separate rules and may expire or be revoked for misuse.
• You authorize us and our payment partners to charge your selected payment method for amounts owed.

7. Cancellations and no-shows

Cancellation fees may apply when a ride is cancelled after a captain has been assigned or when a rider or captain fails to appear within reasonable waiting times. Cancellation rules and fees are shown in the app and may vary by service type. See our cancellation policy in the app for current details.

8. Safety

Safe Ride provides safety features such as live tracking, SOS alerts, and emergency contacts. These tools supplement but do not replace emergency services. In an emergency, contact local authorities immediately. We may investigate safety incidents and cooperate with law enforcement where appropriate.

9. Ratings and feedback

Users may rate and review each other after trips. You agree to provide honest feedback and not use the rating system for retaliation, discrimination, or harassment. We may remove ratings or comments that violate our policies.

10. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

• use the Services for unlawful purposes;
• harass, threaten, abuse, or endanger others;
• impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity;
• interfere with the operation or security of the Services;
• scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse platform data;
• use the platform to transport prohibited items or engage in illegal activity.

11. Intellectual property

The Services, including software, branding, logos, and content, are owned by Safe Ride or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the apps for personal or authorized captain use in accordance with these Terms.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFE RIDE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE OPERATION OF THE SERVICES.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SAFE RIDE AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO SAFE RIDE IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM OR ONE HUNDRED EGYPTIAN POUNDS (EGP 100), EXCEPT WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE LIMITED BY LAW.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Safe Ride from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, safety concerns, or legal requirements. You may stop using the Services and delete your account at any time.

16. Changes to the Services and Terms

We may modify the Services or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on our website or communicated through the app. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Egypt, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise.
